Continuing to plan out our trip next month. Does anyone know where I can find a good overview of the different wineries in Santorini? I found a website somewhere that had listing of the pricing / food options for several wineries but can no longer find it. We want to go on our own and not with an organized tour. We will have our sixteen year old children with us so do not want to do an extended tasting, more general tour / educational experience and tasting. Any suggestions of best wineries to visit are greatly appreciated.
Domaine Sigalas in Oia produces excellent wines. The vines lay on the dry ground.
Don't know about the best wineries to visit. I am not even sure there are that many wineries on the island. We visited the Santo Winery for a wine tasting and it was very different. Absolute beautiful setting. You will not find the typical white and red wines of Italy or France. The wine is very good but different. The whole growing technique of running the wines on the ground is very different but necessary.
There is a wine tour in a closed winery. Its a do it yourself audio tour with several stations where the story if Santorini, its people and wine making through the centuries. It is inexpensive and includes a tasting of 5 Santorini wines at the end. The tour is done in the wine cellar in a tunnel.
It is called
Wine Museum Koutsoyannopoulos
Here are images. Just hit the arrow on the right side of the photo and it will go to the next picture of the tour. I also did a review on TA.

Lee-that is a fabulous website you shared! Thank you very much.
Stan--have you been to Art Space as well? What did you think of it compared to the museum?
Beth
Beth it was a toss up between the museum and Art Space. Museum won so I have not been to Art Space.
Thanks so much for all the great information. I think that may have been the website I was looking for. I have contacted several today and look forward to visiting them
We did a guided tour of the island that included a stop at the Santo Winery. As was already mentioned it was a beautiful setting. That said, the wine that we enjoyed in Greece was from the region of Nemea, in the Peloponnese.
We didnt want a full tour either but we did tastings at sigalas and santo ..both perfect for shorter visits .. if going during busy time suggest a reservation
