Hi Everyone.
My husband and I are scheduled to go to Athens one week from Tuesday (9/5), but are very concerned about the wildfires. We're both in our early 70s with lung issues. Has anyone been there in the past few days or know anyone who has been? Any thoughts? Thanks very much for any advice.

The best way to get up-to-date information about ongoing wildfires is to check the Greek press in English:

To date there is no particular problem in Athens itself, but the inhabitants report the smell of smoke depending on the prevailing winds.

Just in case, I'd also suggest taking N-95 masks, they will help mitigate the smoke effect (and COVID).
