I would love to know the experience of others who have stayed at the Sofitel Hotel near the Athens airport how strong their Wi-Fi is and if it’s an additional charge. I’ve been to their website and can’t find that information. I’m mainly interested because we are hoping to be able to use the Binax proctored test before returning to the U. S. We understand the test needs a good internet connection.
I find the reviews on booking.com very helpful. You cannot leave a review there if you haven't stayed at the property. There are over 6000 reviews for the Sofitel Athens Airport.
I in exactly the same boat! Sofitel, end of May, Binax test. I am hoping though that the test requirment will get dropped for USA entry add/or that I can get a test at the airport.. Stranding by
Hi Jeff,
Yeah, I was thinking the hotel Wi-Fi might be very overloaded with a bunch of American vacationers taking the proctored test the night before their 6:00 AM flights. I don’t think the government will drop the reentry COVID test requirements until late summer maybe.
If your Wifi connexion failed at the hotel, at last resort there is a Covid19 test center at the airport on the arrivals level between gates 2 & 3. it is open 24/7 without an appointment.
The price is €60 for the molecular and €20 for the antigen
Hi JoLui
Thanks! I appreciate the info. Is the antigen test the required one for re-entry?

Is the antigen test the required one for re-entry?
I don't know (i'm not american), american members of the RS forums could certainly answer.
But I found this info:
https://fr.usembassy.gov/required-covid-19-testing-for-all-travelers-to-the-united-states/
Ask confirmation and if necessary double check at the airport.
Here is the website of the Athens Airport Covid19 testing center:
Yes, an antigen test suffices for entry into (or return to) the U.S.
