Which museum/archaeological site tickets to buy ahead?

Hi, All -

Any guidance on which tix to buy ahead for an early June trip? From your other posts and responses to me, I know to buy Acropolis tix ahead (done!), and I think I know I can buy Mycenae tix at the site on the day of. Are there any other tix we should book now before our trip?

For the Ancient Agora: We want to do this, I think, right after our AM Acropolis visit (we have an 8-9 AM entry). But there's also the Acropolis Museum, so I'm not sure which entrance time to select for the Agora. Any advice on how to stage these three--Acropolis, Acropolis Museum, Agora--and advice on whether to buy Agora tix ahead would be great.

Places we will go include:

  • National Archaeological Museum
  • Mycenae (main site, Treasury of Atreus for sure, not sure what else need a ticket)
  • Epidaurus+
  • Nemea
  • Akrotiri (on Santorini, mid-June)

Maybe: Tiryns.

Maybe, maybe: Delphi or Mystra

Thank you!!

Good that you’ve got your Acropolis tickets sorted :) I would do the Agora next, no need to get tickets in advance, take your time at both sites, then depending how long you take I would do the Acropolis museum in the afternoon when it’s likely to get hot, it could be busy so worth getting an advance ticket, you don’t need to for any of the other sites unless you want to apart from maybe Akrotiri, that can get busy so reserving your slot could be a good idea.

Thank you so much. So helpful!

Couple questions:

1) I thought I had read somewhere that the Acropolis Museum was included in the Acropolis & Slopes ticket--but is this true? I don't see the tix for the Acropolis Museum for sale online at hhticket.gr.

They do have tix for Agora, but you said we don't necessarily need to buy those ahead.

2) Our guidebook advises getting the combo ticket for €30--but I don't see it on the hhticket.gr site. Does anyone know if the combo ticket is still offered--and, if so, where to get it?

Thank you!
Elizabeth

I thought I read somewhere that the Acropolis Museum was included in
the Acropolis & Slopes ticket—but is that true?

The Acropolis Museum is not managed by Hellenic Heritage, it's a separate entity with its own online booking site.

Our guidebook recommends getting the combo ticket for €30—but I don't
see it on the hhticket.gr site.

The combo ticket has been discontinued for two years. You now have to buy a ticket for each site.

You're free to do so, but except for the Acropolis, there's really no need to buy tickets in advance.
