What is the best way between delphi and meteora by car?

Hello everyone, happy 2023.

I'm going to Greece in May and I'm going to do a part of the Delphi and Meteora car. However, a question arose about which route to take between the 2 locations:

The longest route, going through Aranchova, thermopiles, but with most of the stretch on roads with fewer curves and duplicates, apparently also safe. By google maps: 4 h 50 minutes.

or the E65, a shorter route, but full of sharp curves?
By google maps: 3h30.

Has anyone done this route by car, could you indicate which route you took and what you thought?

Thank you very much

I have driven this route many times: The detour via the highway is not worth it, unless you want to see the historic site of the Battle of Thermopylae (a bit disappointing, because the coastline has advanced several hundred meters since ancient times). I would take my time - the drive is part of the vacation after all - and take the direct route: Delphi - Amfissa - Lamia - Neo Monastiri - Karditsa - Trikala - Kalambaka (there, and not in Trikala, I would stay overnight). Domokos, halfway between Delphi and Kalambaka, has a few restaurants for lunch, some of them located on the lake (Limni Smokovou).

We were in Greece this past October and had a car for a week of the trip. Our visit to Delphi was part of the tour so we didn’t drive but we were on the E75. After our tour we picked up a car outside Athens and took the E75/A1 towards Meteora. Easy drive except for the last part in Kastraki. Then we headed to Ioannina over the E92/6 which was indeed curvy. We then headed to Napflion over the bridge in Patras. Then we took the Corinth bridge back to the airport easy-peasy. But those roads East of Meteora were quite the adventure. If it is easy to do, I suggest using E75 toll road.
