Whether it's Athens Spotlight or Athens City Pass, both offers are completely useless, misleading and will charge you additional fees.

By doing simulations on their websites I notice that all the offers generally cost at least 10% more than the official price.

Also refer to the Greek government's warning regarding offers including "Skip the line" presented as an argument by these 3rd party services:

https://news.gtp.gr/2023/08/07/culture-ministry-online-ads-for-acropolis-skip-the-line-entrance-tickets-are-misleading/

In addition, with these offers you could have to queue at the ticket office to obtain an entry ticket for example to the Acropolis.
Which you won't have to do if you buy your tickets on the official website.

Also note that it was announced by the Minister of Culture that the €30 combo ticket to visit the Acropolis and 6 other sites will no longer be offered from April 1, 2024. I don't know how this will be managed in practice but with any "Pass" purchased via a 3rd party including an equivalent offer, you risk being refused to access to the sites from April 1, 2024.

Please use the official websites below to visit the majors site in Athens:

So many thanks for this information. I had the intuition against it, so fortunately I never signed up! We are there the last week of March so hoping a mellower time. I greatly appreciate your links.

I do wonder if you've ever been to Lake Vouliagmeni? We are swimmers, but have found it quite difficult as no pools are heated and the city pools require...drum roll please: only a Greek Dr's statement of health to swim!

Cheers, epharisto
