Weather in late September/early October

Hi! My husband & I are planning a trip which has us arriving in Greece late September and departing 10/6. We are planning to visit Athens, Mykonos & Santorini. We want to be able to go to the beach, swim, and possibly rent a boat or do a tour while in Santorini, but we're a little unsure as to whether the weather will allow for those activities during this time of year. I've been researching and from what I can see, weather can be expected to be in the mid-70's on average during this time, and most of the time swimming is possible. Of course, we understand that nothing is guaranteed and weather changes--just hoping to hedge our bets. If you've been to Greece during this time, what has your experience been? We have our round trip flights from the US to Amsterdam and will be purchasing inter-Europe connections--so we still have the option to choose a different destination, though our dates are not flexible. Thank you!

My experience has been weather plenty warm for all of your planned activities through mid-October. Remember, if 75 is the average high temp, you could still have many days over 80. The best swimming beaches (shallow or protected) have been warming up all summer.

I've been to Santorini twice in September and October both times and was swimming in the sea, although by October the wind can cool the water down the way you blow on a cup of coffee to cool it. The sun was warm and the clouds were high in the sky. The evenings were a bit windy and chilly at times.

I was in Greece last year at the exact same time as your trip. It was HOT. Certainly warm enough for what you and your husband have in mind to do.
