Does anyone know if there is a water taxi from Ammoudi Bay to Athinios port? I know there is one that goes from Athinios to Ammoudi, but cannot find recent info about the return trip. The last post on this topic here is from 2018. We are arriving into Athinios port and want to avoid using the cable car up or down to Fira because of the long lines.

First of all, you'll disembark at the old port (Skala), not Athinios Port. If for some reason your ship takes you to Athinios Port, you won't need a water taxi. Instead, you can take a regular taxi, which is both faster and costs about half the price.
Cruise ships usually drop passengers off at the old port. From there, yes, you're correct—there’s a shared water taxi service that costs €30 per person to Ammoudi Bay. For your return, there is a water taxi service available, but it’s private and more expensive, costing around €120 for up to 4 passengers, if I remember correctly.
