I will be in Lesvos for three weeks this Sept and plan to visit the archeological site of Bergama in Turkey. I want to go on my own, not with an arranged tour. Do I ferry from Mytilini to Ayvalik then take a direct bus to Bergama ? Or is there a ferry from Mytlini to Dikili Turkey, which seems shorter? I want to stay two nights in Bergama, then return to Mytilini. I don't want to do it as a day trip, doesn't give me enough time. Any suggestions from someone who has done this would be appreciated.
