How wonderful!! I have never read him on Greece but know his war story about capturing the German general, and have of course read his travelogues of his tramps into Mitteleuropa (first, when I was living in Hungary in the early 1990s) and books of his letters. He is one of my favorites too — what a writer and what a man. What a great opportunity to be able to visit his home. Thanks for posting!!!

‘Mani’, on travels in the south Peloponnese, and ‘Roumeli’, on northern Greece, are both very good. Roumeli has some good stuff on the Meteora.

Cheers
