Visit Meteora

We drove there ourselves but took two local tours with them. They both were very good.

We also drove to Meteora from Athens and stayed at the Divani Hotel. Next day we did two tours with visitMeteora. We did the morning tour, then lunched and rested at the hotel and then took the sunset tour at 3 pm. We recommend the company for both tours.
But cannot answer on how their transportation from Athens to Meteora was.

I researched several options for tours (guided and self-guided) of Meteora. Visit Meteora had the most/best that fit our travel style. My wife and I have a tour scheduled for 10/23 with Visit Meteora. We also will be driving there because we will be continuing to the Peloponnese. I'm not sure when you are traveling or how quickly you need the information, but I will provide a trip report by early November. Happy travels!

For folks who drove themselves to Meteora then did a tour, can you weigh in on the benefits of VisitMeteora's tour versus self-guided? We will be driving up for a few days next month and I am trying to decide the benefits versus cost of booking a tour. Thanks!

We did both. Visit Meteora took us on a sunset tour of the whole area, including some areas at the base of the cliffs and across the valley that were well worth seeing. Then the next day we did one or two monasteries ourselves. It would not have been as good without the Visit Meteora tour. Definitely worth it.
