Trip to Greece Nov 20-28 visiting daughter

Our daughter is studying in Atehns and we are headed there soon. Only thing planned so far is overnight trip to Meteora Nov 23-24. We fly out early on the 28. Have booked Andronis athens for full stay. We would love to hear suggestions for the rest of our short stay. We would love doing a food tour, and maybe a trip to Peloponnese if feasible. Also considering day trip to Aegina.

If you rent a car you could, for example, go to Nafplio (and stay 1 night).

About Aegina the best would be to stay there one night because in November the days are short.
Ferry timetables for Aegina are here:

https://www.ferryhopper.com/en/#results?itinerary=PIR%2CAEG&dates=20231125

These are those of November 25, change the date if necessary. Booking the ferry in advance is unnecessary, just get the tickets at the port

Regarding Athens, the food tours consist, for the most part and for around 65€, in starting from Monastiraki square, walking 5 minutes in Athinas street and visit the municipal market of Athens, then returning towards Psysi neighborhood in order to eat some Greek specialties in a tourist restaurant.

I'm sure your daughter who is already in Athens could do the food tour guide for you, especially since your hotel is located in the Psysi neighborhood which is crowded with restaurants and bars (and nightlife)

If she takes you I don't see what more a food tour could bring you, especially since there are hundreds of restaurants and taverns where you can eat Greek specialties for less than €20.

I would consider spending two nights in Meteora. It is really quite a ways to get there. My brother and son both had spent one night there as you are planning. They both told us to stay two nights and we were very glad we did.

I would not go to Nafplio to spend one night. Too much driving in my view. We spent one night in Delphi on our way to Meteora which is much more doable.

Ditto the suggestion to spend one night in Delphi, enroute, then two nights in Meteora. We found Delphi interesting and Meteora awesome. Enjoy!

I agree with 2 nights in Meteora and one in Delphi as a long trip, which adds very little to your drive time. Then you can pop a day trip from Athens to an island in as the weather allows. And the remainder of your time in Athens!

For a real local food tour in Athens book Athens-Walks.The owner Kostas is a former Evzone, Greek Guard.

Firstly, instead of Aegina, I would suggest considering Hydra, which is incomparably more picturesque and beautiful!

If someone is coming to Athens and is interested in a food tour, I would recommend exploring the Athens city center where you can find numerous restaurants and taverns that will introduce you to authentic Greek flavors.
You can easily discover impressive cases of good Greek food through Google Search or TripAdvisor.
In the historic center of Athens, there are plenty of options for delicious Greek cuisine.
Also, I'd like to share a link to a page dedicated to a 2-day exploration of the historic center of Athens.
Check it out here: https://www.kavas.com/blog/two-days-sightseeing-in-athens.html

Additionally, I would advise always checking Google Reviews before choosing a place to dine, as it provides valuable insights from other visitors about the quality of food and service.
This can help ensure a positive and enjoyable dining experience in Athens.
