Hey, I am traveling to the Cyclades this coming summer with a 1 year old and would like to go light however need a stroller probably and am unsure what the deal is with car seats over there. All of the lightweight strollers are still 9-12lbs and probably don't stroll on sand which means I will be lugging it around most likely. Is there a recommended umbrella stroller out there or can people rent this gear over there. Could really use some advice as it's my first kid. Thx!
Backpack carrier for child.. stroller wont be useful in many situations like beaches.
Arent you bringing your carseat on the plane? We always traveled with our so cant help much with that,, I guess one could contact rental car agencies and see if they can offer to include a carseat ( there likely will be an extra fee) . Do inspect how they install it..
We tended to stay put more when our kids were young so didn't always rent a car when we visited places, sometimes just using public transport ( sorry don't know how efficent that will be on Paros)
The hire car company will provide a car seat. Many won't charge for it. Just add it to your booking enquiry.
I'd say carry a cheap, lightweight stroller with you, as they are useful when you go out in the evening if the baby falls asleep. If you are staying in a villa there may be a service that will rent one, but it's not common.
Greece is very family friendly, it's not unusual for someone to take the baby from you in tavernas to let you enjoy your meal!
