We plan to spend 7-8 days in Greece, in June, then move on to Croatia for the remaining portion of our 2 week tour.
We will spend three nights in Athens on arrival in mid morning, then ferry to Hydra for 2 nights.
Since I don't plan to drive, we are dependent on public buses and the sea. My next intended stop would be Nafplio... Two nights? Maybe one? It looks like (per Rick's book) we can make it to Nafplio from Hydra without having to return to Athens.
I am torn about whether to take the time for Olympia ( 5hrs each way including transfer) or visit Delphi which is much closer to Nafplio. As I understand it, it seems that the main attraction in Olympia is the historic connection with the Olympics.
The more I see and read about Croatia the more I don't want to cheat our time there. So far, the draft plan is fly to Split, spend 2 nights , and on to Plitvice for an overnight and on do Dubrovnik for 3 nights, from which we will fly out to UK in evening of our last day.
There is some wiggle-room here, in Croatia.
Any ideas are welcome.
