travel time to Santorini and Mykonos

My husband and I are going to Crete in June 3 -20th. Our itinerary is Seattle to Paris (4 days) and on to Chania and spend 6 days with friends there and then back to Athens for 2 days, Santorini for 2 and Mikinos for 2 and then back to Athens for one night fly out back to Paris and then back to US the next day.
My concern is (after reading this forum) I haven't allowed enough time to fly to Santorini and then ferry to Mykonos. Is there a fast ferry from Santorini directly to Mykonos and then fly back to Athens after that?

Why not ferry to santorini from Crete and from santorini to Mykonos? Then fly from Mykonos to Athens. Going to Athens once is more efficient.

There are no ferries from Chania to Santorini. The ferry from Heraklion to Santorini is 1:40 hours fast ferry vs. 3:30 hours conventional ferry. From Santorini to Mykonos the travel times are 2 hours vs. 5 hours. Fast ferries cost 85-100% more. See other posts about the wisdom of placing all your time in Athens at the end of your trip. It helps understanding your time if you state the number of nights in a location, rather than days.

I don't think your plan makes much sense. I assume that you can fly direct to Chania from Paris. Thats good you don't have to connect through Athens. You will have to transfer Chania to Heraklion to take the ferry to Santorini. To be safe you should probably spend the night in Heraklion so you don't have to take the 5am bus Chania to Heraklion. The local bus KTEL is frequent modern and inexpensive.
The ferry for Santorini departs around 9:30 Spend you two nights in Santorini then take one of the ferries from Santorini to Mykonos. I am pretty sure Seajets and Hellenic ferries do that route. Now fly or ferry back to Athens and spend you last couple of nights there. Sequence is important and that hop back to Athens in the middle is just a time waster.
