Best ferry from Athens to Mykonos
There are 2 kinds of ferries, with each kind being quite similar. The conventional ferries are huge and allow outside seating. The super fast ferries are hydrofoil and can be bouncy on waves. These take about half the time for twice the cost. All ferries can be cancelled due to winds and large waves.
Have seen this advice repeated many times over on the FB page I follow: BLUE STAR! The fast ferries have been described as “vomit comets” and are much more prone to cancellations for wind/weather reasons. If you are going a short distance, like from one island to another, maybe it’s not such a worry, but Mykonos to Athens is a longer stint. if you are picturing sitting outside or looking out the window at the lovely sea, that’s not possible on the high speed ferries.
