Transportation to and from airport, ferry, and train station

I'm wondering if it is best to schedule our transportation for Sept in advance with, Welcome Pickups (or other suggestions) for the following transfers;
Chania airport to hotel,
Santorini Ferry to hotel,
Santorini hotel to airport,
Athens airport to hotel,
Train station to Doupiani hotel and back to Athens.

From what I know we can ask the hotel to schedule it for us, but it will still will us.

I would definitely have transfers scheduled in Santorini. It was a total zoo when our ferry arrived there. Such a relief to see our name on a sign!

Thank YOU! That is what I heard and saw on some pictures, it looks like a mess, I saw pictures on Facebook. I was thinking at least if I do book in advance I know what the cost will be and have a contact person to call. Santorini was my biggest concern. Thanks!

When I arrived at Athinios on Santorini I took a shuttle to a guesthouse in Akrotiri. It cost $50 and I wasn't hauling luggage either. A taxi would have cost $100.

I guess I definitely need to check it out; with the hotel, with a taxi company and see about a shuttle. Thanks for the information. We are going to Oia, a 35 minute drive and we will be carrying our backpack luggage. Thank you!

Hello. I just returned from an 18 day trip to Greece. On arrival at the Athens airport, I took the bus X95 directly to Syntagma Square. The bus was easy to find right outside the arrival baggage claim area. The ride was less than an hour. In Santorini, I arrived via ferry from Crete, and took the "Local Bus" to Fira. The buses basically wait for the ferries to arrive and fill up before departing, so walk directly from the ferry to the bus. The fare was $2 euros.

You'll love the Doupiani House in Kastraki (Meteora). We did. I think you'll wish you had a car. Doupiani house is quite a hike from either Kalambaka or the monasteries.

Thank you all for your comments. I think I will do more research. At least one good thing we are not concerned if we have to walk a bit. We walk 3.5 miles almost everyday at 7,000' elevation and hike weekly 8 miles at least.

But, in Santorini the crowds are my concern. We have a place to stay in Oia. I believe we have to take 2 buses for that journey. I will check into the bus, and if that does not work, I will definitely get a taxi and reserve it in advance. Thank YOU!

P.S. I'm looking forward to staying at Doupiani. It was a Rick Steeves suggestion.

Chania airport to hotel via taxi was super easy and reasonable cost. Did not pre-book, taxis lined up waiting at curb.
