Transportation for a busy day on Santorini

I will be staying in Fira and want to spend a day visiting Pyrgos and Megalochori then on to Venetsanos for a tasting, Akrotiri site, dinner at To Psaraki, then back to Fira. It looks like the buses service the majority of this area but I am wondering if it will impact my timeline particularly because I have set time slots at the end of the day. This is what I am thinking:
- 8:30am Take bus from Fira towards Perissa, arrive at Pyrgos stop about 9am and spend about 2 hours exploring, taking pics, and shopping, have an early lunch at Penelope's (leaving Pyrgos about 12:15pm),
- 12:30ish - Back on the bus towards Perissa and getting off at the winery stop for Venetsanos tasting (plan to stay about 1-1.5 hrs).
- 2:30pm - Back on the bus, stopping at Megalochori to explore a bit and take a few pics (about 1 hr).
- 3:30pm - Take the bus towards Akrotiri site. I have a 5pm slot (check in at 4:30) to visit the site. I plan to stay about 1.5 hours.

I plan to book a reservation at To Psaraki for 7pm and request that they coordinate taxi for me from Akrotiri to the restaurant (pickup from Akrotiri site around 6:15pm) and back to Fira after dinner.

Does this timeline make sense or am I underestimating the time I will be spending waiting for the bus to arrive? Should I walk to the winery and if so, should I walk from Pyrgos or Megalorchori? Any other feedback?

There are so many unforeseen circumstances and unexpected events possible with such a plan that, in my opinion, it's impossible to confirm whether it will be feasible within +/- 1 hour or 2.

Greece isn't a country suited to itineraries with precise timings. It's better to be flexible from the start rather than ending up with a completely disrupted and unfeasible plan.

I assume you've checked the Santorini Bus website:

This video on how to take the bus in Santorini might also be helpful:

Good luck anyway!

Thank you for the feedback! I am rethinking things a bit. It seems getting to Pyrgos is easy to achieve since we will leave from Fira. Once there, we can explore and have lunch then walk to Venetsanos (looks like maybe 30 - 35 minute walk, part of it scenic) for a tasting and relax and linger a little longer if we choose. From here, we could either take a bus to the Akrotiri site or request that the winery call a taxi to take us there directly. This would mean we would miss Megalochori, but it would have been a brief stop and would potentially add to complexity in timing/logistics.

Also, thanks for the videos. I have seen many of the Greece Explained videos before. I find them easy to digest and very informative. Truly a great resource for planning!

Just keep a list of what you’re planning to do and the best order to optimize your route.
As for the logistics, you'll just have to see how the day plays out and if you're still on schedule.

If everything goes as planned, all the better, if not it's not a big deal. You can't control everything.

Waiting at a bus stop when it’s 30°C (85F) or hotter can make the wait pretty brutal. Not to mention the "Siga Siga" which you’ll definitely have to adapt to. :-)
