2.5 hours later...I am STILL trying to find out how to purchase tickets to go from Athens to Thessaloniki via train.

P.S. If I read it properly in Rick's post, he said the Euro rail is not a good buy for getting around Greece and that you should purchase individual tickets.
However, I can't seem to purchase them on the Hellenic site.

Thank you for your response and I believe I just figured it out.
They are not issuing tickets this far in advance. If I put an end of August date in, it pulls up the train schedule. Once I put in a September date, it show "no available trains." I guess I need to wait..
