We have 2 days in Athens between trips to Crete and the Ionian islands. Any advice for ways to experience (and learn) some traditional Greek folk dancing while we’re there? Looking to only spend a couple hours and traveling with a 11 year old so looking for something interactive and not too intense. Appreciate any recommendations!
I have found this: https://www.grdance.org/en/greek-dances-theatre-dora-stratou/ in my own research. Would love some firsthand review of a show there.
DOra Stratou is MARVELOUS ... but if you go in May or after early September, no can do... their performances start early June, at a stadium in city par, Begins about 7- 7:30 at night, is that OK with 11 year old? It's not Learning, its watching, but certainly is traditional... at least 20 different dance traditions, wiith authentic dress/costume to match. Brilliant dancers.
Thank you for the Dora Stratou recommendations! We'll definitely check it out this July!
