We will be spending about 5 days in Crete. We plan to use Chania as our base. Our primary interest is archeology and history. I am looking for suggestions for day tours from Chania to archeological sites such as Knossos and the archeological museum in Heraklion.
Also, any suggestions for culinary tours in Chania. We took a walking dinner tour of San Juan, Puerto Rico once which was a delight. Looking for a similar tour in Chania.

I don't know of any tours from Chania to Heraklion or the Palace of Knossos, but I'm sure you can find some. Be aware that it is a 2-hour drive each way from Chania to Heraklion. You might find an all-day option that includes those 2 sites and others as well.
We stayed a couple of nights in Heraklion to see what you want to see on the day between. We simply walked from our hotel and took the bus to Knossos and back. The museum is in Heraklion.
