I have 3 airbnbs booked in Greece each for 1 month
I can’t find anything official about tourist tax. I want to find out if there are limits on the number of days you must pay it
As far as I know, it applies to every night that you stay. For Airbnb stays, it looks as though the charge is 50 cents a night, so it’s a small charge even for 3 months.
I am
Seeking out some kind of official information. Do you have a link to an official site? Much appreciated
Are you aware of Schengen limits (from the countries of many visitors here, including Canada, US, UK, and many others) of 90 days including arrival and departure days in any 180?
You may have a visa or citizenship of an EU country, but if not 3 full months may well exceed the limit...
I noticed from your other post you are spending 2 months in Italy.
Are you an EU resident that is not limited by the 90 day rule? Or are these entirely different trips?
On the tax, this is what I found... https://news.gtp.gr/2017/12/29/greeces-new-stayover-tax-charged-hotel-guests/
Not official but it does ID the Greek law. How much are you being charged? There does not seem to be any mention of limiting/capping the tax at a fixed number of nights. Whether your lodging fits one of the exempt categories.....?
Looks like you should get a separate receipt for the tax payment
We are spending 88 days in Greece then leaving Schengen unit 180 days is up the. Returning to Italy fir 88 days
I have put in an email to the Greek embassy in Ottawa
No help from Embassy they told me to contact an authority in Greece and when I replied to their email asking If Which authority they sent me a link that doesn’t work
Looking to find official information thanks
