I'm interested in learning about any recommendations and information on touring by bike, including ferry rides and camping options.
Greece is very mountainous which could be a drawback to many.
I met a few rare travelers by bike in Greece with camping /cooking equipment, and everything else to survive. Sometimes with a small trailer. I don't know if this is the kind of trip you're thinking of.
As Suki said, Greece is very mountainous (the islands often too) and the Greeks hardly use bicycles to get around.
In the islands, the wind makes traveling by bike difficult and dangerous.
Wilderness camping is prohibited in Greece. When there is no campsite you need to ask the locals if you can camp on their property
The roads are most dangerous because of its drivers. Greeks are not used to sharing the road with bicyclists and that in itself would give me great pause. Think twice.
I appreciate the information. Touring Greece on a bike sounds more challenging than I thought it might be. I get the high terrain warning. High winds are always the most challenging.
I agree that cycling in Greece is ‘challenging’ (to say the least!) it’s not impossible though. Have a look at these routes as a starter.

Thanks to everyone for responding. I value all of your input. The idea of biking in Greece is forced on me by a couple of things. In 2018 I rode my bike from Boise Idaho to Yellowstone National Park. I discovered that I felt much more immersed in all of the parts of the journey and even more so when I entered the park where it's hostile to peddling a bike. My Greek heritage compels me to tour the country and it will be part of an epic journey through western Europe. I MUST go!
If you must go... Go!
There is no impossible dream, there are only dreamers who lack audacity.
This is the kind of traveler I met in Greece:

If you are in good shape, the most important thing is a good bike, spare parts, and a few words of Greek, on the small roads and in the Greek villages you will not find many people speaking English.
