Tour Group for Acropolis tour

For our trip this summer, I have a private tour booked for our family of 4 through a tour company called With Locals. Since I haven't used them before, I can't give you a personal recommendation, but I've read good things about them and I liked the idea of being able to do a private tour as we also have limited time and I want the guide to be able to tailor the tour a bit more for what my teens would be interested in.

You can easily do a "do-it-yourself" tour on your own. With a good guide book and the internet you'll find it quite easy and probably more enjoyable.

Bear in mind most tour groups and tourists will start showing up at the same time making your Acropolis Experience not quite as enjoyable or tranquil if you do it yourself and get to the site at opening time at 8 a.m. You'll have a good hour to wander around without pushing and shoving tourists trying to get the best photo ops.

And if you are lucky enough you'll see the Greek Army marching in, raising the Greek Flag, singing the national anthem and them marching out.

Nothing wrong with tour groups/guides but it may not be as enjoyable as doing it yourself first thing in the morning.
