Time needed between flights at airport - US to Athens to Santorini

We are flying (Delta) from the United States to Athens, landing in Athens at 1:20pm on a Thursday. We are trying to determine how much time is needed in the airport before taking a flight same day to Santorini. Would you recommend the 3:05pm flight (Aegean) or the 4:30pm flight (Sky Express)? Or would you recommend even later (4:50pm, 5:10pm, etc.)?
To note, we are checking luggage.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Definitely the 4:30 Sky Express flight.

Hopefully Delta will have gotten to the bottom of their problem and your flight won’t be canceled and you won’t be stranded. I’d have a Plan B.

Good point.. Hopefully they are back on track by then! Our trip is more than a month out from now.

It's is too short for the 3:05 p.m. Aegean flight, especially with checked baggage

It should be fine with Sky Express flights at 4:30 p.m. or 4:50 p.m.

When flying unconnected flights on Aegean I bought the most expensive class of ticket which allowed for ticket change. I don’t know if Sky Express has anything equivalent but worth it if does. That way I could have changed my ticket if I got delayed coming into Athens and missed my flight to Santorini. But fortunately no issues!

Sky express (and Aegean) have a smartphone application that allows you to manage your reservations and check in online (and have your ticket in electronic format). Download it.

Sky Express tickets with checked baggage (Joy + or Enjoy fares) allow at least 1 change.

This change must be made early enough before boarding time so as not to be considered a "No Show" which does not allow any refund/modification.

This is another argument for downloading the application.
