we will be in Athens from Aug 15-20 leaving on the 20th to mykonos. How do you purchase tickets for the ancient sites? can i buy it online and is there a package deal? Also, one of the days we will go to Aegina, do i buy the ferry tickets from the US or buy it when we get there?
I am going to Greece in October but I am not taking a ferry. So far I don't think Greece is like Italy, where it is possible and sometimes necessary to buy tickets to many of museums and sites in advance. My last trip was to Italy, in July 2017. We can buy our tickets to sites and museums, at the sites when we arrive. Tickets to sites and museums in Greece are not sold in advance on the internet. The closest thing to buying a ticket in advance would be the Athens combo ticket I am vaguely aware of, which is good for 72 hours for the date of purchase, and the ticket to Delphi, where you can go to the museum on one day and see the outdoor area the next day, or the other way around.
There is such a thing as buying ferry tickets in advance. Search the open internet for ferry ticket sellers. I don't know if it is necessary to buy ferry tickets in advance or if you can or should buy them at the last minute. I figured out that round trip bus tickets are only sold in Greece at the bus stations or ticket offices.
There are package tours; search tripadvisor.com, or other websites, for examples.
