Thirassia from OIa Santorini

Since we will have 5 full days in Santorini Oia, I was thinking we should visit Thirassia. Now, i can't find a ferry schedule. Is it worth going there, I can only imagine is super close and will not be a long ferry/boat ride. Are there tons of churches or scenic things to see and do. We are with our 5 year old and 7 year old daughter, should we bring the light weight stroller with us? Please give me any info you think will help us decide. Also, is it worth going to Paros from Santorini or going to Paros from Mykonos. We will be in Mykonos for 4 nights.

There is a local shuttle ferry that leaves from Amoudi Bay below Oia for Riva, Thirassia's port. It's best to take the morning boat.

08.00, 12.45, 17.20

Departs Riva, Thirassia for Amoudi Bay: 07.45, 12.30, 17.10

Departs Korfos Bay, Thirassia: 12.15, 17.00 (don't miss this last sailing, otherwise you'll have to stay overnight on Thirassia).

Ticket price is €1.00 each way.

The boat overnights at Riva. It leaves Riva at 07.45 a.m. and sails directly to Ammoudi. It then goes back to Riva. Anyone who wishes to use the Thirassia Community Bus to take them to the main village of Manolas, disembark at Riva - the boat doesn't stop long. The bus will be on the quayside, white with a couple of green horizontal stripes. From Riva, the boat then goes to Korfos Harbor, where the volcano tour boats stop.

After you explore Manolas you can walk down the steps to Korfos Bay, have some food, go for a swim and then catch the boat back to Amoudi. The return journey will depart Korfos Harbor, to Riva, to Ammoudi, then back to Riva for the night.

Strollers will not work everywhere. The streets are bumpy and uneven and obviously you won't be able to use them on the steps down to Korfos Bay. This might not be the best excursion for little people.

There's nothing to book. It's not an organized tour. Think of it as a ocean-going bus. Just be down at Amoudi Bay in the morning by 7:30 or so and wait for the boat. I think the fare is still only €1 plus another €1 for the bus up the cliff to Manolas.
