There are 5 of us. 3 adults and two children almost 5 and 7 y/o. our flight arrives at about 9:45 am and we need a cab to our hotel. as of right now, we are trying to bring the following suitcase 31inch, 29inch and a duffle bag. all three will be checked in. we will have one carry on rolling bag, a stroller (umbrella stroller) and our backpacks. what would be the best and practical way to get into Athens, I rather not take public transport at that point. Am I right. how do i reserve a car, how far in advance. we will be in Athens on Aug 15th. A month away!!

Taxis are flat rate to downdown Athens. You could get a larger one. Maybe someone else will offer a private driver which we usually do. However, the taxis were easy to get and not very expensive even if you had to split into two taxis.

We really liked Welcome Pickups in Athens. It's a very professional outfit. Putting your information into their website (anonymously) they quote 76E for a minivan pickup. That's for up to 8 people and 8 pieces of luggage. I think they charged 38E from the city center to the airport for a single cab (2 people, 2 small luggage, 2 backpacks) when we transferred on a Saturday last month from the Philippos hotel near the acropolis to the airport.
