Hello we are planning 4-5 nights on Syros -
What we would like to find :
Hotel near or in beach ( steep hills can’t do as hubby has bad knees )
Good swimming and or snorkeling ( the latter not as important as we know snorkeling is great in general )
Tavernas to try for dinners
Both beach’s look good but really looking for any hotel recommendations- we don’t need fancy - location and air conditioning is our only real requirements .
Any help ?
Almost no contributors to this forum who have been to Syros ... I myself was there only for 3 days, and while the port town square is stunning (the main reason I visited), I cannot say that I'd return to Syros. 95% of vacationers there are greeks, and frankly, they were not all that friendly to nonGreeks. So, for expertise, I'd suggest going to the Trip Advisor forum and consulting its Syros section, where experts hang out. good luck!
I really like Syros (sorry Janet!) and have been several times. I can’t help with a hotel recommendation - we always stay in Ermopolis or Ano Syros - but I think it might come down to how beachy you want to be. Kini is a bit more of a village and has more tavernas whereas Galissas is very much just a beach with accommodation built round it with a few eating places.
There are likely to be hotels at both that will suit you given you aren’t looking for fancy.
