Hello Travelers! I will be visiting Greece in late April, and after spending 5 days in Athens I wanted to spend an overnight in Delphi and then drive from Delphi to Dimitsana. I'm realizing that is a looong drive and I'm wondering if it makes sense to stop in Olympia to break up the trip, or if I should just motor straight to Dimitsana and save Olympia for tomorrow's day trip (2 hours each way, I think).
Or....
Perhaps I should just skip Olympia and Dimitsana and spend more time around Delphi and Nafplion before heading back to Athens?
Your opinions and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I came from a different direction, but once we got close to Dimitsana, the drive got more challenging, so good idea to get a break. Maybe Nemea instaed of Olympia? Especially if you are a wine lover. I skipped Olympia but ancient Messene was a stunner. We really loved the beautiful Dimitsana area and the hike to the monastery, so hard for me to say skip it! Olympia does not seem to add too much time to the drive, so a stopover may be the best option.
Nafplio is definitely a great area with many things to see, so it just depends on how many days you have.

We are now rethinking the route however and are now planning to stay longer in Delphii and incorporate a day trip to Meteora instead of going to Dimitsana.
Hopefully we'll get there another time.
