Hi!
I am programming to visit Kythira in July 2022.
I read that Kythira is a quiet island. For
a lively and charming atmosphere at night, is it recommended to stay in Chora or Kapsali? Thank you in advance
July will be high season so both areas will have lots of tourists. Kythira isn't an over--the-top island like Santorini/Mykonos so should be better if you like less tourists.
Check out this website for Kythira especially accommodations.
Thank you Tommy5 for your reply and for the link about Kythira and accomodations.
Hopefully that anyone can advice if it is recommended to stay in Chora or Kapsali for a lively atmosphere especially in the evening.

What does this mean?
A place with loud music, dancing, and drinking OR where the main street is closed and a lot of the locals take 'an evening stroll' and shops are open and there may be street entertainers?

Either would be nice but I would choose Kapsali. The wonderful beach is right there with plenty of restaurants and I would think there would be some decent liveliness in the evenings and there is sort of a "promenade" of sorts along the waterfront and Spiros' boat. Plus, if you want to visit the Chora it's only about two km walk up the hill.
Kythira is one of our favorite islands. Incredible beaches but some pretty nifty historical sites, too.
