Solo traveler and first time visiting Greece payment question.

Hello travelers,
I reserved an apartment for 4 nights on May in Naxos. The owner requests cash rather than credit card. He also asks for first night deposit and recommends PayPal.
I've been travelling with Rick Steves Tours thru 6 countries and have always used credit cards for lodgings and transportation.
Should I send the one night charge in US dollars equivalent to €110 per night charge? Is it possible to send the payment in Euros?
I'm not opposed to sending the payment and I have PayPal. It seems to be the safest method.
Has anyone had to make PayPal arrangements before?
Appreciate your advice!

I use Wise for transfers bank to bank, if that’s an option for them. Wise.com. Once you are set up, it’s very easy and low fee to transfer money. You get the choice to send either an exact amount of dollars or an exact amount of euros - send euros. Paypal has slightly higher fees involved but works pretty much the same if you have to use it.

When we first started going to Greece years ago almost all transactions were cash. That allowed the vendors to under report their income.
Credit cards are now accepted everywhere and merchants, tavernas grocery stores and hotels all take credit cards.
If it were me I would insist on payment by credit card or I would find a different hotel.

Hoping all works out well. At least you have 8 weeks to figure this out and aren't standing at the airport check-in line like some people have experienced.
