It snowed here in Colorado today, no surprise for February. But Athens was hit yesterday by its hardest snowstorm in 12 years. The storm’s named Medea - the USA names hurricanes, but not tornadoes and certainly not snowstorms - we’d run out of names, and need to resort to Greek letters! The Parthenon got a snowy blanket and somebody built a snowman, crowned with a laurel wreath:

And the Norwegian Ambassador to Greece posted a video of him (and daughter?) skiing down a hill. Nice turns, and he’s Norwegian and all, but why would he have his skis and boots in Athens? Another photo showed a colleague in Athens, who XC skied to work. I wonder whether the Greek ambassador in Oslo keeps a donkey, to possibly tote things uphill there?
