We are a family of 4 going to Sifnos for a few days in June. Our boys are 10 & 12 years old. We are looking for an affordable family room in hotel or apartment to rent for 3-4 nights. We like air conditioning since we live in San Francisco. We like no pets since I am allergic to cats. We hear Vathi (Vathy) is a nice beach to stay on but we are open to other ideas. We like to be walking distance to restaurants and town centers. We would like to be away from discos and loud nightlife and close to the beach. Thanks.

We’ve stayed in Alkyonis apartments in Kamares, the main town. They were nice, on a good beach, and an easy walk to town. They don’t seem to have a website but there are details here

Kamares is more lively than Vathi, with a better choice of places to eat.

I'm going to put in a contrary vote, because I don't lilke the beach at Kamares that much... so much boat traffic stirs up the water a lot, not as beautifully blue & clear as elsewhere. Vathy may be a little quiet in early June, better later on. Take a look at Platy Gialos beach -- I've been there in June (I stay in the hills & bus down), and it's pleasantly populated with good choice of restaurants ... the middle of the beach has hotels jammed together, but at the far end, a quite nice affordable place, free standing, Giannakis Studios, recommended to me b an American expat who stayed there with their 2 children.
In June there will be no discos/loud nightlife on any beach... most activity would be right near port or up in Appollonia.
