Serifos-where to stay?

We are traveling from San Francisco in June with our 2 boys, ages 10 and 12. We would like to stay in a place that is near a beach and walkable to restaurants but not too busy. Thanks.
Best,
Suzanne

I happen to looove Coralli Bungalows, because it's "over the hill" from the port, on Livadakia Bay... which I understand is very busy in High season but not in June, when I've visited. There are really only two accommodations right on the beach -- Coralli Bungalows, and a small pension - http://www.vacation-greece.com/hotels/cyclades/serifos/alexandros-vassiliki/ Here's the Thesaurus agency llink to the Bungalows - http://www.thesaurus.gr/hotels/serifos/coralli_bungalows/coralli_bungalows.php -- and I recommend if you choose this, you book thru them, because if you try to book direct, they'll want a small deposit by bank transfer, which is a hassle. If u go thru Thesaurus, it's a credit card thing. These cute bungalows have walkways just 20 feet to sand, its shaded by Tamarisk trees, lovely! Beds are thick foam mattresses on concrete base (!) but we slept well. There's also a pool & a small "grocery store" if u want to make breakfasts & a minimal cafe & snack bar if yu don't. Corralli has a van to pick u up from the ferry if you alert them to arrival.... the first time i was there, I just wandered thru port town & over the hill & discovered them.

Alexandros-vassiliki has a small taverna... it's well to stop in, early afternoon & see what the cook has on the stove... if u see something u like, "reserve" a serving of it -- they make limited amts in June... Really nice server/host & chef ... last time I was there with 3 friends, as a "bonus" to our meal, we were given the "signature dish" of Serifos/Sifnos, baked chickpeas (YUM) & the chef with sign language explained the recipe.

However, it's an easy walk for dinner into the port town, Livadi, & beachside tavernas there. Longer by the road, but quick if you go to end of beach & take the hill path (with a quick stop at the most GORGEOUS flower-filled cemetery you will see in y our entire life). There are 3-4 pretty fair Livadi tavernas ... Taki is an Old Reliable... y our chairlegs sink into the sand, take your shoes off. Walking back on the road, if the moon is full, everything turns to silver. Magic.
