I had some places pre booked and prices were good for May and most of June,
July not as cheap or as easy to get a room
I used ferry services but did not get tickets on line I got tickets from an agent in a town, reliable and easy to book that way. High speedferries cost more. I liked blue star and Hellenic larger ferries. I never booked a cabin. In May and June plenty of spots to curl up and snooze. Take a jacket and or sarong if the ac is full blast. Take your own food,,,but drinks onboard I only got sick on the roughcrossing from Milos to iOS.
