Self test kits

Does anyone know if there are covid self tests sold in pharmacies or elsewhere to tourists in Greece? I do not mean the proctored ones for return to the US, just basic ones. Also not the tests done in the pharmacy, but self tests you do at home.
I’m bringing the binax proctored tests for my return. However if I feel sick before that I’d like to be able to take a test in the privacy of my hotel. If it’s positive I’d use the binax to get an “official” result and start isolating - but I don’t want to waste the proctored test if I’m negative and not due to come home yet.

Last time I was in Greece I had fairly bad allergies (sneezing etc) to something in the air, but nowadays this could be confused with covid so I’d like to know!

We are bringing some from home. It might be easier/less of a hassle than trying to find them overseas. To cut down on the bulk of the packaging, we removed them from the boxes and put them in a ziploc baggie together with the instructions. The BINAX Now tests are staying in their original sealed packaging as required by BINAX Now so that the test is not void.

Mary, before I traveled this time I queried Abbott Labs on whether the non-proctored Binax test kits could be taken out of their bulky packaging to take up less space and they said no.

Too bad because that big box and plastic insert takes up a lot of space.

Mira, your thoughts about allergy vs Covid are my thoughts as well. Apparently I am having strong allergic reactions to the chestnut trees blooming here in Paris. Since there are few to no chestnut trees in Idaho, who knew, lol.

Bring plenty of allergy meds and pre-treat yourself!

Pam, we took the gov’t issued test kits out of the boxes and put them in a quart sized ziploc baggie. The baggie is resting against the hard edge of the luggage and cushioned by the soft contents of the luggage so I don’t see how they would get damaged. All components are still in their sealed packaging.
