Seajets question

Hi - seeing if anyone happens to have experience on either of these Seajets: Superrunner or Champion Jet 2? I was advised to find a larger ferry that takes cars, but after that didn't know if they differ based on comfort, chances of cancellations, etc. We aren't prone to sea sickness but rather not be surrounded by others on a rough ride while are:)

Traveling from Athens to Naxos in September. I know Blue Star is typically preferred, and taking it on return trip but not really an option on the way there. Coming from Nafplio that morning so don't want to deal with the airport. Taking a private transfer so port really doesn't matter. Thanks!

The Seajets Superrunner and Champion Jet are large ferries (capable of carrying cars and trucks), and this year the Superrunner is on the Rafina - Naxos route (not Piraeus - Naxos). All Seajets ferries between the mainland and Naxos are large ferries anyway.

Here is a video of a Naxos-Athens trip with the World Champion Jet.

The other large Seajets catamarans are similar. Although this looks comfortable, it has nothing to do with a Blue Star ferry.

I've traveled on the Superrunner and several Champion Jet models as well as a few times on smaller Seajets.
Regarding the larger ones, they're certainly less pleasant than a Blue Star, but if you have no other choice, I don't see why you should avoid them.

Most sailing bans due to bad weather, when they occur, affect all ferries, regardless of the company and ferry type.

On the big Seajets catamarans, there isn't really an outside deck where you can go like on a traditional Blue Star ferry. It's just like a large outdoor terrace with no seating, very exposed to the wind and sun.

On the smaller Seajets, it's not possible to go outside (like on an airplane).

Also note that you will have a numbered and assigned seat, unlike with the Blue Star Ferries where you can sit wherever you want.

@JoLui - this is all very helpful - thank you so much! Yeah I'm trying to avoid waking up in Nafplio at like 5AM so just taking an afternoon ferry, so unfortunately the Blue Star isn't a realistic option on the way to Naxos for us. Thinking of that ferry as just a mode of transportation and just wasn't sure if there were major differences between the larger Seajets. Our transfer is charging us the same regardless of what port we pick so I think I'll just go with the one that the schedule works best. Thanks again!

Coming from Nafplio, the drive to the port of Piraeus takes no more than 2 hours, or 2.5 hours at most in heavy traffic.

You can also return the day before and spend the night at the port of Piraeus to catch one of the first ferries.

You'll have lost an evening in Nafplio, but in return, you'll be in Naxos for lunch (not counting the night in Piraeus, which can be interesting).
