Santorini - Fira, Oia or Kamari

We are a family of four (kids are 13 and 12) and are visiting Santorini this summer for 4 nights. We can't decide whether to stay up above Kamari, in Oia or in Fira. We want a relaxing beach vacation, but I'm thinking if we stay in Fira or Oia we'll have more restaurant choices at night. Unfortunately we did not find a reasonably priced hotel with a Caldera view, but we are within walking distance. The hotel in Kamari has a beautiful view. Any opinions or advice?

There are as many, if not more, restaurants in Kamari Beach and Perissa Beach as there are in Oia, so that won't be an issue. Fira, of course, has the most of everything. If you want hotel recommendations you need to tell us your maximum daily combined room budget, your travel dates, which village you finally choose and the sort of amenities/facilities you require. If you prefer to search on your own use the filter system at http://www.booking.com and search village-by-village instead of island-wide to narrow down your choices to a manageable level.

Thanks for the information. Right now, I have one hotel in each village booked. The most expensive is in Oia (but I saw a recommendation on this forum for it) and is called Oia's Sunset for 800 euros for 4 nights (it is a one bedroom apartment). In Kamari, I booked a studio in the Aegean View hotel for 680 euros and in Fira a family apartment in Loizos Stylish residences for 600 Euros. 800 euros for 4 nights is our maximum. We will be there August 19-23. Cleanliness is important to me and I like the idea of a pool and a view. I would like to be close to a bus line. I don't care if they offer breakfast or not.

If it's available on your dates, "Old Oia Houses" has an affordable 2-bedroom unit (D) for 4 people. You'd have a large private terrace for enjoying the wonderful view. There is a very nice public access pool in Oia that's free if you buy food and/or drinks.

Thank you both very much for the recommendations. I will check them both out.
