My trip will now be including an engagement for my friend! Trying to find a special restaurant/experience! Our full days there are July 3-4
July 3 there’s no cruise ships scheduled on the island.
July 4 there are two (5000 ish people).
Anyone have any recommendations?
Been a while since I have been there, but the classic would be to find someplace for the sunset, maybe in Oia, a restaurant or bar, or make your own picnic.
If money is no object, then you could consider a private sunset cruise on the caldera. Spiradakos Sailing Cruises offers those as one of their options. If you want to have a sunset dinner in Oia, then I would strongly recommend you book something for July 3rd, since it's a madhouse there when the cruise ships are in port. Contact your hotel, tell them exactly what type of dinner you want, including a direct view, have them make a recommendation and have them reserve it well in advance.
How about a sunset picnic experience? It’s something different and really special for an engagement. You can either do it with a full “Will you marry me?” setup (decor + flowers etc.) or just book the picnic and keep the proposal separate / more private.
