Santorini day trip on the water recomendations

I am planning a mother/daughter trip to Greece and will be stopping in Santorini for 3 nights. The one excursion I would like to include is a boat or catamaran trip. Initially I was thinking a sunset cruise because it seems like a nice way to spend the afternoon/evening looking at the island from the water, but I am wondering if it will be all couples, since many of the descriptions include "romantic" sunset cruise. So I start looking at the daytime BBQ trips, but with the emphasis on "unlimited" alcohol (my daughter is 17) and most of the time seems just focused on sunbathing and eating/drinking. I don't mind alcohol on the cruise, just don't want a party boat. I also don't mind spending a little more for a smaller group. Thanks!

There are day cruises that are not party cruises. A few tears ago we just booked one at a local travel agent on the day before. Took us out in the caldera and to the volcano and hot springs, but there are several varieties.
And whats wrong with going on a Cruise with couples?

There is nothing wrong with couples, and when some market it as romantic then that makes me think twice. There are so many of these going out that I thought someone might have experience that they might share.

I think they market it as romantic because it involves a sunset, which is inherently romantic. My Girlfriend and I did’nt do a sunset cruise( even though we where the perfect market demographic), but saw the sunset in Oia and that was just too crowded. A sunset Cruise might have been the better choice.

I highly recommend Sunset Oia catamaran cruises. We took the Red Sunset cruise last year and were wowed by the service. The meal they cook on board is delicious. They stop at three different beaches to swim if you like and also offer snorkeling equipment. They do have unlimited wine and beer but no one on our excursion drank to excess. The staff was amazing: helped everyone on and off the boat, helped everyone put on life vests for snorkeling and went around wiping up water off the floor after people went swimming. On the catamaran, there were long tables and it had covered top to protect from the sun. We made a final stop just outside Oia for sunset and picture taking.
