Santorini and Athens in November Help!

Hi all!
I’m going on a trip to Santorini and Athens next month in early November. We will be in santorini for two full days and Athens for four full days with a travel day on either end of the trip and in the middle to get from santorini to Athens. I’d love any recommendations for things to do in santorini since it won’t be peak heat or peak season! We are staying in Oia and won’t have a rental car, but are willing to spend money on taxis or public transport to be able to explore more of the island. Thank you in advance!

(I’d also love any must-dos for Athens)

It's difficult to predict which attractions on Santorini will be open in November since many businesses will have shut down by then. The most activity will be in the main village of Fira. You can start here to get a general idea of what Santorini has to offer: https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attractions-g189433-Activities-Santorini_Cyclades_South_Aegean.html If a cruise into the caldera is something you'd consider, wait until you're there to assess the weather and to learn which sailing companies are still available in November.

For assistance with arranging transfers contact Gabi Birbeck in the "Santorini Secrets" group on Facebook. She lives on the island, charges less than the taxis and is a lot more reliable when it comes to arriving at the appointed time.

We also stayed in Oia and really enjoyed walking on the promenade in the morning, also walking to see the castle ruins, and the windmills, as well as having a sunset dinner. You can take the bus from Oia toward Fira and ask the driver to let you off at Imerovigli and walk downhill along the seaside path from Imerovigli to Fira for spectacular views. You could also take the bus from Fira to Akrotiri to see the archeology ruins there which are fascinating. Santorini is beautiful!

Just left Santorini today - great trip! A couple of can't miss things if you're into Ancient Greece.

The archeological site for Akrotiri is interesting. Not to be confused with the town, this is a town buried by an eruption in the 17th century BC. Take the public bus to the Red beach stop - you'll be right there.

The Museum of Ancient Thera has many neolithic and bronze age artifacts recovered from Akrotiri. The frescos are amazing!

To enjoy the view, I'd simply walk along the path that takes you between Oia and Fira. It gets crowded closer into Fira, but the views are amazing!
