Santorini 1-night Hotel

We are planning to fly in from Athens to stay one night in Oía Santorini the week of June this year. We will then ferry off to Naxos the next day for a nights. Are there any recent recommendations anyone can make for a family of four cliffside hotel? The costs seem across the board so unsure where to start.

I already strongly recommended staying in FIROSTEPHANI --- and BTW, in this post like the Naxos one, you should note the family make-up ... 2 college-age boys different from children 3 and 5. Firostephani advantages, (besides not being overwhelmed by cruise-crowds & pkg-tour mobs) are • cliffside location with caldera-view rooms • Easy 20-minute walk to FIRA town for attractions, cafes nightlife • better rates than Oia.

If u want useful advice -- why not name the date??? OTherwise you may be getting a list of hotels that are unbookable. This posting doesn't even give the Month -- we shouldn't have to hunt around to find it.

Since you're just there to admire the view then scram, u ca skip pool hotels. Non-pool hotels I can recommend are Hotel Mylos, Sunset Hotel, Villa Remvi (if u arrive in time, this has a MARV terrace restaurant for sunset dining) Manos Small World, Agali Houses.

Oia is the most beautiful village on the island. You will not be disappointed. Check Olympic Villas, Strogili Houses, Rimida Villas, Kima Oia Suites, Chelidonia Villas and Ifestio Villas.

Hi, we are a family of five (our three "kids" are 26, 23, 22) traveling to Santorini in June. My colleague's parents are from Greece. She is staying at this hotel shortly after us: ILIOPERATO HOTEL. //www.ilioperato.com. It will be her second trip and she highly recommends the hotel. Said it was family run. I researched the price and this one seems very reasonable compared to other cliffside hotels.

Last time I was in Santorini I stayed in Firastephani, it was great. The Ilioperato is in Imerovigli, which is a little further out and a little quieter I think.

I agree that Imervogli is v nice, I've just stayed with Firostephani because of its better location for easy walkability to/from Fira ... Imervogli requires taxi, car rental or bus. BTW, the bus service has changed in last couple of years due to increased traffic -- previously both N & S-bound busses used the main N-S road. Now only Southbound busses... Northbound busses use the lower "business road". It's downhill a bit, in Firostephani... somewhat farther, in Imervogli.
