I just watched the video from RS on street food in Europe. There was a street vendor where he eats a gyro. I took a picture of the sign but not sure if thatās the name of the vendor? I listened but I donāt think he mentioned the name in the video. Does anyone know what the name of the stall is? Is it in Athens? Thanks
Maybe the takeout window for Sabbas in Monastiraki Square in Athens? That is where we got our gyros. They were great.
Good spot by Mary. Itās the Bairaktaris on the corner of Monastiraki Square and Mitropoleos. The same owner has three tavernas in the area which are pretty much next door to each other. The menu in each is the same. The Sabbas is one of them as is the Sigalas.
The sign says ĪĪĪ©, which is Greek for āhereā, and then lists the main food available.

There are Gyro shops all over Athens but the one on the RS show is in Monistiraki Square, one of the main tourist areas in Athens.
You'll see lots of people sitting on the steps and wall there eating a Gyro.
I've had Gyros in many areas of Athens and other parts of Greece so you'll have no problem finding a Gyro shop.
Most of them are as good as any other's so you shouldn't have a problem finding a good Gyro.
