Restaurant recommendations, Athens and islands

I'll be in Chania, Heraklion, Firostefani, Naxos and Athens next month. I'm not a foodie, eat vegetarian, possibly a little fish, so tavernas are fine for me for meals. I'm interested in places with scenic views or good for people-watching, pleasant atmosphere, good wine and cocktails is an asset. I will be on foot or using public transportation. I'm ready to splurge a couple of times for a really good (vegetarian) dinner. ManiMani is definitely on my list for Athens.

Chani,
In addition to Mani Mani (our fav. in Athens) : Naxos- Nostimon Hellas. Weather permitting sit in their lovely back courtyard. I will never forget their Portobello Mushroom stuffed with vegetables, cheese and topped with Tomato Jam. Another good choice is To Elliniko. A short distance from Nostimon.

Santorini: Firostephani- Aktaion Taverna, good food & view. Mama Thira, equally good. Short distance from Aktaion. Fira- Stani Tavern. Another Caldera view and great food.

We made reservations at all the restaurants.

Hi Chani!
I was going to recommend a great place where my mom and I enjoyed wonderful meals during our stay in Firostefani, however, when I searched Google maps, I couldn't find it! It was a small take out place but they had a few tables for their guests. It didn't have a view but the food was great.

I hope you've found a nice place with a view. When we were there years ago, also in the month of October, we stayed at 'Gaby Apartments'. Our tiny studio apartment faced the caldera and we enjoyed magnificent sunsets!

Wishing you a wonderful trip!

Edited to add...

Hmmm... There used to be an amazing Central Market in Piraeus where we had the best fresh fish in a tiny place within this market... It's not there either! Not having much luck helping you here.

Anyway, I do wish you the best trip ever!

Well... I searched the market on Google Maps... and, I found it!
However, the street view (photo) is from 2014... If you happen to be in Piraeus, before of after visiting the islands, you may want to consider going there. It's near the port on the corner of Dimosthenous and Tsamadou (across the street from the Triton Hotel)

Disclaimer: We were there in October 2008, so it's possible that it's no longer there...

καλό ταξίδι! (Bon Voyage!)

Athens-Up the hill from Syntagma Square, in Kolonaki, Kafeneo on Loukenou St., a traditional Athenian neighborhood taverna, away from tourist central Plaka. We also enjoyed ManiMani.
Chania- We have spent a lot of time in Chania, a favorite of ours. I do not know about specifics of vegetarian offerings but there are always a lot of vegetables: eggplant, tomatoes, peppers, spinach and zucchini. Cheese is a staple.
