I was debating renting a car when we are in Santorini for 4 days in mid-June. We are staying in Oia. Is there easy parking? There is 5 of us traveling, so we would need 2 cabs if we wanted to leave Oia and booking excursion tours to explore the island for 5 people adds up quickly. Thoughts?

You can take a direct bus from Oia to Fira and places in between so you don’t need one.

We rented a car for a day to explore the island. Our hotel arranged it, can was dropped off and picked up at hotel.

Our hotel recommended Vazeos, who I contacted and set up a 1 day rental so we could explore the island and then they allowed us to drop it off on a street next to the ferry port, saving us the additional cost of transportation. One day rental, for a small automatic car is $50 + $15 to drop off at port, it was $45 for transport to the port. It made total sense for us to do it this way. Prices for all sizes are on their website and they are very responsive to any questions.

But Sixt has an outlet at the airport. We rented a car there for 2 days withoug issues.

We.found the bus system to be very easy in Santorini. Not sure I would bother renting a car.

I also rented for 2 days from Vazeos - they met us at the airport and I dropped off at the airport upon departure. Very easy. I stayed in Oia at Ianthe Apartments and Villa, which we loved. They provided us a parking space.
I didn’t use the bus so I can’t compare. Except my daughter took the ferry from Naxos to Santorini, then bus from the harbor to Oia to meet us and had to wait through a couple of busses because of crowds (July 2021).
