We are looking to rent a house or apartment in Greece, with accessibility to Athens and to the coast, for the months of June and July 2018. We are looking for simple living, nothing touristy, just to experience life in Greece. We are a couple travelling with our three children, ages 9-14.
Any suggestions or tips for where to look would be greatly appreciated.

Try searching for websites like www.VRBO.com so you can use the search filters to find what you can afford in the area outside of Athens that most appeals to you. Glyfada is an area to start with. Renting a house during the summer months won't be cheap.
Lee’s suggestion of Glyfada is good. If you want to be slightly closer in then you could look at the Palio Faliro area, just behind Flisvos Marina. The marina has been recently done up, there is a park with a children’s playground and the tram will take you into central Athens or down the coast to Glyfada.
Airbnb have a number of places in the area.
