We will be on the Rick Steves Tour of Greece ending the beginning of June 2026. The following day, we have a 2-day, 1 night tour planned with Visit Meteora Travel. We catch the bus near the Larissa metro/subway station, opposite the Athens Train station. We will be dropped off at the same location on the return trip the following day at 11 PM. Then we are heading to the ferries to go to Santorini the next morning. We know this will be a night with very little sleep. We are looking for hotel and transportation recommendations/suggestions that allow for late night arrivals and a way to get to the Piraeus early in the morning.
The next 1-night stay is the night before we leave Greece to come home. We will be coming back from the islands and staying in Athens before flying out. I get the feeling from others on the forum that there isn’t much to do around the airport. We are looking for recommendations of enjoyable areas of Athens to spend the night with an easy way to get to the Athens airport for a noon flight time.
