My wife and I will be staying in Santorini for 4 days in Feb 2023, and I wanted to get any recommendations for small group tour companies that might give overall island tours and/or wine/food type tours, that might be operating that time of year? I have always had great results in this forum in getting great advice for tour guides (individuals and/or companies) around the world in so many places so figured I would give Santorini a shot!
For food tours, I can recommend Santorini Food Tour (https://www.santorinifoodtour.com/). They have an "Eat and Walk" tour which is mostly centered around food and a "Beer and Walk" which as you can probably guess is centered around beer.
I did the food tour this past June and really enjoyed it. Dimi was our host and did a great job explaining the different foods we were tasting (I didn't know a whole lot about Greek food beforehand) and was overall just a very nice and personable person.
It is a little on the expensive side for a food tour in my opinion, but you do get to sample a lot of different foods and of course there is probably a bit of a premium just because it's Santorini.
We enjoyed a guided day bus tour of Santorini in September 2016. It was the highlight of our 4 nights. We stayed in Firostefani. Our hotel arranged the tour. I was looking online to find a tour that closely resembled our tour. Take a look at Greeka.com. It is similar & includes Mount of Prophet Elias, Megalochori, Archeological site of Akritori, Perivolos beach, Santo Wines for tasting, Oia Village for Sunset of Caldera. We didn’t do any food tours. We just enjoyed several of recommended restaurants in walking distance of our hotel. Two of our favorites were Aktaion and Stani in Fira. Reservations were needed. Don’t know if needed in February. We also used the convenient bus system during the day to Imerovigi. Enjoy your planning!
We went to Santorini in May 2022. We did not get a tour as we just toured ourselves.
If you want to go sailing, we had a wonderful sail afternoon and evening with Angelsailing. George is a wonderful captain. Beautiful meal, only 8 people maximum and the chance to swim as well. George will encourage you to try your hand at sailing!
I concur with Lee's recommendation for Kostas. However, we booked directly on his website and chose the "a la carte" tour. That enabled us to tailor the tour to our interests a bit more. One of the things we chose was a tour/tasting at Venetsanos. Kostas is very personable and knowledgeable.
We did the Santorini Eat and Walk food tour that James also recommends and really enjoyed it. We start the walk in Firostefani and head towards Fira with about 6-7 stops to eat. It was a lot of fun and very informative too. I also recommend going on YouTube and watching the Santorini Explained channel. Sebastian runs it and he also does walking tours in Santorini. We took his Oia nighttime walking tour on our first night and it was a great introduction to Oia.
