Reccomendations for 4 night stay- which island?

Hi all. Very early stages of planning a short trip to a Greek island from London in June. I am looking for recommendations on small islands with good stay options (ideally on the beach) for a 4-5 night stay in June 2nd week. Not looking for very touristy/ commercial towns, nothing wrong with them since I am a tourist myself but don't want to be in an extremely busy place.

Santorini & Mykonos are out for obvious reasons. For a 4-5 night stay (but not sure if 4 days are too much/ if they are easy to get to), I have the following in mind so far- Sifnos, Milos, Symi, Syros, Paros, Andros, Naxos? Chania, Crete- my research tells me 4 nights are not enough.

Looking for-

  • laid back, relaxed local towns/villages by the sea with nice beaches + good food

  • somewhere nice to wander in the evening with a nice town, restaurants, independent shops, maybe a local market

  • somewhere with character and a gentle buzz although we are not interested in clubs or parties

  • ideally, don't want to hire a car but can take taxis, if needed (& available in such towns)

Any recommendations based on similar requirements?

With just 4-5 days, you want an island you can fly to directly from London. Narrow down your list based on flight price/schedule.

And then start checking beach hotels on those islands on Booking.com. Come back here with a couple of options for people to weigh in on if you’d like.

I have met Brits who return year after year to little known Greek islands, including Lesvos, Kos and Leros. I really think you can have a great 4-5 days on any island.
